Historical facts dating back to the early sixteenth century show inconsistencies in the history of the Louvre version of the painting and make a compelling case for the existence of a second Mona Lisa, painted ten years before the version we all know. Everything from eyewitness accounts and historical records (including two separate commissions at two different times) to expert analysis, critical comparisons between the two paintings and all the latest scientific testing, leave little doubt that this painting, rediscovered by art critic Hugh Blaker in England 1913, is indeed an earlier version of Leonardo's most famous masterpiece.
