Sons and Mothers is an intimate portrait of a group of marginalised men who meet once a week as part of the Men's Ensemble theatre troupe. Led by their director they embark on a year long journey to create a theatrical love letter to the most important woman in their lives, their mother.
What unfolds is a poignant and intimate portrait of seven surprising individuals who reveal all with honesty, grace and a dose of irreverence. As they put their hearts on the line complications set in and not everyone makes it to opening night.

The short movie is set in Florence in the '70s and tells the story of Sonia from age 11 to adulthood. The spectator gets in touch with the feelings of an entire generation through Sonia's life. That historical and political period in Italy is marked by terrorism and the movie describes the generational conflict of people at that time. Following Utopian ideals, some Italian young people renounced their backgrounds and behaved violently. In the film, this behavior is evoked as Sonia's emotional journey. Due to her actions, she lived a long period of detention, during which time she constructively reviewed her past.

They're in social terms, transvestites, but in their own personal reality, they're women trapped in bodies of men. Through a lyrical and contemplative narrative, we witness their everyday lives and their unfiltered intimacy. The sounds, colors and textures of their surroundings tell us their stories.

One affects another and becomes part of it. That part of another can be whole of one. The film contemplates on the boundary between the essences of several subjects. When a subject is faced with another, a boundary is created due to its unique form. It creates the boundary of the world. The internal and external state holds comprehensive ideal correlation according to the ambiguous relationship between the people, objects, and the space. The structure of the film also suggests this relationship by mixing several media like collage.

Love at First Sight the multi-award-winning short film, is the heart-warming story of a lonely young man’s increasingly creative attempts to attract the attention of the girl of his dreams. A gentle film of hope and optimism. The story is told without dialogue, subtitles or dialogue caption cards. It is free from all forms of written and spoken language. Mark Playne wrote and directed the film using three styles of direction with the cast. Trained actors ‘playing to script’ – first timers from the street playing themselves using a directing technique of ‘reaction to action’ – ’hidden camera’ and ‘fly on the wall’ documentary shots of people and animals being themselves going about their daily business in the town.

An ode to memory: Couples affected by a partner's recent diagnosis of Early Alzheimer's come to terms with their changing roles. Each couple has a different approach to the disease and to their perception of the disease. Caregivers express what it is like to be interrupted constantly, the responsibilities that lie ahead. Alzheimer patients express what it is like to have Alzheimer's in its early stages and the changes they note with their daily functions.
This film is about the process of discovering that a partner has Alzheimer’s and then dealing with the aftermath. The topics, and subsequent chapters, address the following: diagnosis, challenges, and the stigma of Alzheimer’s, clinical trials, and adjusting to the inevitable. Linking the different topics are poetic interludes which evoke memory itself and force the viewer to string together the thoughts and images which appear and then disappear. The images, which come from Super 8 footage, are evocative of memory, while the text addresses the language that moves in and out of the recesses of the mind of the Alzheimer patient. This is a film of sadness, loss, nostalgia, discovery, and hope. It brings to light both the dark and light sides of Alzheimer's disease from the perspective of the patients as well as the caregivers and it offers a little insight, as we head into this epidemic of the future.

A restless public is re-awakening long after her death fueled by the recordings of her anti-government speeches. Rainer experiences his live as a chain of abasements. Life looked good in 1989. He had a finished education, work in sight and a girl friend in the wake, but than his sketch out way is suddenly interrupted by the fall of the Berlin Wall. Since than he is stucked in his hometown Thuringia, tends his bedridden mother sacrificially and lives off social support or minimum wage jobs. The frustration of the abasements and failures gathers within him. Drop by drop. He feels that the world can only be put in order with a fire signal and decides to build a bomb to set an example. He stows it in the bag of his moped on which he delivers pizza for the local Mc-doner-pizza-shop. He hits the road through several cites on his way to Berlin until he reaches the capital. Rainer meets his own history on this trip. Finally he arrives at Berlin and finds himself in a flat-sharing community. He falls in love with a young women, in who he sees all he has ever searched for: an ordered Life! Originally from the province, she is down-to-earth and lives a structured life. Rainer gives up his plan and begins to build up a middle class future for both of them. But as a enormous misunderstanding takes place, he gets thrown off the track again. He primes the bomb and drives it to the Brandenburg Gate, were the annual New Year's Eve party is just starting...
